Job Description:
• Coaching and mentoring PMTL's around previews, deal memos and credit approval documents
• Develop consistent underwriting format around templates, data comparison and HNB portfolio comparisons.
• Liaison and partner with RCO's and attend RCO council meetings
• Manage all aspects of PM team's prospective/client underwriting; including spreads, sensitivity analysis, risk ratings, covenant and term structuring, and underwriting of business operations.
• Ensures all underwriting is in adherence with credit and risk policy.
• Actively manages portfolio for trending credit metrics, identification of key risk indicators and key performance metrics for portfolio, and portfolios of interest within Health Care.
• On-boards, coaches, and mentors new employees and oversees all active day-to-day operational management as well as career development responsibilities in including formal performance and compensation reviews.
• Senior team member of the Health Care team interacting regularly with RCO's, Managing Director, Director of Portfolio Administration and Relationship Managers to ensure communication around pipeline management, deal team meetings, and management of Preview/SLC/CARS process and committees.
• To be the front line leader on new business vetting regarding structure, pricing, credit policy compliance, exception identification and FEG compliance
• Interfaces and partners actively with Regional Credit Officer and Senior Regional Credit Officer for Health Care to ensure timely underwriting, adherence to policy
• Partner actively with PMs/RMs to lead due diligence meetings, structure deals, negotiate terms, and oversee the PM team's client communication.
• Oversee the management of the Credit Analyst Team Lead to ensure proper on-boarding, training, coaching, and routine feedback and underwriting assessments for all analysts.
• Interfaces and partners actively with Regional Credit Officer and Senior Regional Credit Officer for Health Care to ensure timely underwriting, adherence to policy exception targets, and management of 150 bps or less in charge offs, as well as sub 5% in Criticized/Classified loans.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 7+ years of experience in credit delivery and underwriting in Healthcare including senior living and long-term care
• 5+ years as a credit officer in Healthcare or Middle Market Banking
Preferred Qualifications:
• Leadership around teaching, coaching, and talent development
• Strong credit acumen and business judgement
• Risk assessment, identification and mitigation skills
• Experienced in Healthcare especially CRE Healthcare including Senior Living, long term care and Continuing Care Retirement Communities
• Communication and writing skills
• Adherence to LOB front-end guidance
