Position Overview
Our US Sales group, based in Stamford, CT, is seeking Internal Regional Directors to join our team.
As an Internal Regional Director, you will be focused on generating new business in your assigned territory and providing business development support to the designated Regional Director (External Wholesaler). You will also partner with the broader sales organization to drive sales and enhance client relationships within the Dechannelized Sales Team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for increasing Legg Mason Mutual Fund and Managed Account gross and net sales, market share, and product diversification by leveraging our data-driven business planning process, client segmentation, and consultative selling approach within the territory in partnership with your Regional Director partner.
• Must cultivate and manage relationships with Financial Advisors and Centers of Influence by offering sales ideas, market intelligence, key product information, and value add/education via phone calls/screen sharing, electronic communication, in-person/virtual 1 on 1 meetings, and in-person/virtual group presentations.
• Maintain a high level of proactive calls on a daily basis to support and develop new and existing relationships.
• Utilize a data-driven approach and tools to educate Financial Advisors on product offerings
• Partner with corresponding Legg Mason representatives in DCIO and VA/Sub-Advised channels, to create referral opportunities, and build the Legg Mason brand across channels.
• High usage of CRM system and additional technology to execute on a data driven territory business plan.
• Leverage data to cross-sell existing relationships, and prospect new opportunities
• Adhere to all compliance regulations and guidelines including use of approved marketing materials, fund prospectus requirements, and proper licensing.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of sales experience within a financial services firm
• Superior communication, consultation, and listening skills to identify sales opportunities, suggest creative solutions, and manage challenging discussions with sophisticated clients to quickly establish rapport for future business development
• Extensive investment product knowledge and understanding of financial concepts and capital markets, and the ability to articulate a variety of investment topics ranging from fundamental asset classes to fixed income solutions
• Student of the market; seeks out learning opportunities internally and independently
• Data-oriented and analytical; able to apply data to the sales process
• A passion for success and performance at the highest level in a fast-paced, incentive-driven environment
• Enthusiastic team player and self-starter with an ability to multi-task, assess, and prioritize business opportunities
• CRM experience strongly desired (Salesforce.com)
• FINRA Series 7 & 63 required
• Occasional 25% travel required
