The Fixed Income Group is seeking an experienced emerging markets trader who will be responsible for identifying opportunities and transacting emerging market local currency bonds, with a particular focus on Latin America. The trader will work with 4 emerging markets traders, located in Los Angeles, London and Singapore. Capital Fixed Income Investors (CFII) has been managing fixed-income strategies since 1973 and has over $320bn in assets under management. We have an experienced team of 32 traders in Los Angeles, London, Singapore and New York. This position is based in Los Angeles.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
• Execute trades and identify trading strategies/investment opportunities in emerging market local currency bonds, with a primary focus on Latin America and a secondary focus on providing backup trading coverage in Latin American USD credit.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, with investment group colleagues and sell side counter-parties
• Collaborate with Capital’s investment professionals worldwide to discuss market trends and investment strategies
• Liaise with Investment Operations and other fixed income business units to maintain order flow integrity, monitor risk and improve communication
• Perform additional responsibilities and undertake special projects as assigned
Skills/qualifications:
• 5-10 years prior experience of Fixed Income Trading experience, with strong focus on emerging markets local currency rates trading. Latin American local rates trading preferred.
• Self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills
• Proficient with Excel and other analytical tools
• Able to work calmly, flexibly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong relationship building and negotiation skillsBachelors or Master’s degree in business, economics or other quantitative major
