The Broker-Dealer Accounting/Regulatory Reporting team of AB is in search of an Intermediate Staff Accountant, Broker Dealer Accounting to join their U.S. Controller’s organization. The candidate will report to the Manager, Broker Dealer Accounting and Reporting and will be involved in the monthly and quarterly close of the Company’s two broker-dealers. The position is primarily responsible for accounting, management reporting and analysis related to our broker-dealers.
Education and Experience
• 2+ years of broker-dealer experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Series 27 is a plus
Qualifications & Skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Knowledge of SEC broker-dealer accounting and regulations required
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative by nature
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Strong client focus with the ability to respond timely
Responsibilities
• Prepare accounting entries related to our broker dealers
• Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly analytical reviews
• Assist with preparation of audited financial statements and provide information for the Company’s SEC reporting requirements
• Liaise with various internal (i.e. trading, sales, legal and operations) and external constituents as needed
• Maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
• Assist in special projects as required
