Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
Key performance areas
As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for developing a business strategy for profitable growth for parts and services. This senior leader will manage and coach a nationwide sales team that delivers best practice territory management with special emphasis on building long-term customer relationships.
Responsibilities include:
• Creating the sales strategy for parts and services, maximizing profitable growth with a strong business intelligence base.
• Developing and enhancing the overall relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Identifying gaps in the sales strategy and creating solutions for markets where we have small penetration and building sustainability plans to retain sales areas of significant penetration.
• Adding value to the customers with constructive views and increasing creative solutions to reduce customer’s Total Cost of Ownership.
• Routinely providing sales forecasts, budgets, and sales results for the parts & service group in the USA.
• Relentlessly driving rigor and discipline in execution of customer meeting pre-planning, post meeting review and task assignment of resulting actions.
• Collaborating with the Dealer Manager to have the best solution to support the whole US market
• Championing team use of CRM tools and maximize its use for performing gap analysis
• Interacts with capital equipment area to ensure proper collaboration with Capital sales group
Your profile
You must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and MBA in Business Management and/or service marketing. You also possess a minimum of 10 years’ sales strategy for parts and services as an OEM in the Mining or Construction segment. You have experience in data mining and research techniques, and are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) and PC/web applications. Knowledge of and experience with Sales Force or CRM database systems would be a significant plus.
You possess extremely well-developed analytical skills and strong logical reasoning capabilities.
You are driven and dedicated, with a high level of initiative. Your attention to detail is top-notch and you are extremely organized. You remain patient when dealing with adversity and always maintain a strong sense of tact, diplomacy and professionalism while ensuring goals and deadlines are met across the board. You are highly persuasive, with excellent communication and presentation skills and remain confident in the face of challenges. You are comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders of all levels and are a relationship-oriented self-starter.
The willingness to travel 60-70% of the time and an eagerness to learn are a must.
