Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Rapid Development Team Leader, this position is responsible for assisting with the development of the set of products, services and process improvements managed by the Rapid Development Team. The project priorities are recommended by team members and approved by the steering committee.
The Product Developer assists the Product Managers in becoming the subject matter expert for a set of innovative Treasury Management products and processes with concentration in redesigning products and service to take advantage of digital technology, experience and design. The Product Developer creates prototypes and writes business requirements based on the objectives for new products services, user interfaces and improved processes. This position also explains or presents these requirements to other team members and stakeholders to attain their buy-in for the development. These other team members may include representatives from technology, risk management, operations, compliance, marketing, sales, and customer service.
This position must be able to work in a fast paced environment, collaborating daily in close proximity to other team members and can adjust development and design priorities as the progress dictates. The team will be made up of technology developers, designers, documentation specialists and others, all working together to complete subsets of development all turned to production on a regular quarterly schedule.
Will prepare project justification documents to communicate the reasons the bank should fund the resources required to embark on the recommended projects. This includes an understanding of the industry and its competitors as well as the financial analysis used to outline the potential returns.
The Product Developer perform user testing and work with other team members to test the outcome of their work. That is, verify that the programming work done by technology operates as specified in the design document, or that work done by marketing delivers the message we are trying to convey.
Certain projects do not have an assigned Project Manager, so this position will serve in that capacity in support of the assigned Product Manager. This means ensuring that all the proper stakeholders are included in pertinent meetings and updating the team on the outcome of meetings and managing scope changes to projects.
This position may be called upon to assist with training the sales and services team in the features and functions of the product and ensures that product changes are communicated through the Business Service Center, Marketing and appropriate sales teams.
The Product Developer will work on multiple products and likely several projects simultaneously. At any time they might be assigned to work with a different Project or Product Manager depending on the need to complete a project at that time. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
2-4 Years experience in Product Development
Experience with banking product design and development
Demonstrated knowledge of digital banking business including applicable industry issues, regulation, major industry contributors etc.
Project management experience
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
Knowledge of the tools available for prototyping and developing digital tools using responsive design
Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
Additional Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of and ability to communication the FirstPower culture. Further, the candidate will understand the Bank’s architecture for delivering data and business rules to the various systems and user interfaces in the bank.
