Purpose of Job
We are currently seeking talented Business Strategy & Planning Manager for our San Antonio, TX facility.
This role is responsible for supporting P&C leadership and their teams connecting our Property & Casualty strategy to execution through Adaptive Planning Processes and Lean Portfolio Management. Utilizing expert knowledge of USAA, industry, business development, and financial planning, conducts business strategy reviews to assess progress of strategy achievement. Performs complex and often unique work assignments and problem resolution across multiple disciplines. This role works closely with senior executives as a trusted advisor to ensure success in achieving P&C plan and creating capability roadmaps to realize P&C strategy.
Collaborates with company and/or staff area P&C executive management to identify, develop and communicate specific business strategies across P&C functional areas, utilizing advanced knowledge of USAA, industry, business development, and financial planning. Conducts strategic analyses of business needs and environmental trends in support of business strategy development and planning processes and, as appropriate, enterprise strategy and planning processes. Conducts business strategy reviews to assess progress of strategy achievement.
Job Requirements
• Guides development and coordination of P&C strategy.
• Works with P&C executive management establish strategic framework to enable short and long-term business goals and objectives.
• Identifies and implements specific processes to manage the business strategic planning process.
• Maintains and aligns business process and frameworks to USAA enterprise strategy process and framework.
• Builds and maintains P&C specific strategic roadmaps to ensure deliverables are met (current and future).
• Maintains responsibility of change management plans and strategies for large, complex business specific initiatives that often impact the organization and/or enterprise.
• Performs primary and secondary research and analysis and synthesizes findings on market, industry, consumer and competitor trends.
• Guides less experienced team members as they perform research and analysis.
• Supports P&C executive leadership with the design and coordination of the annual strategic planning and operational planning processes.
• Assembles key participants and guides and facilitates cross-functional teams in the strategy development and implementation of business solutions.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• 6 or more years professional work experience.
• 2 or more years planning and execution experience.
• 2 or more years work experience in a role that directly contributed to business short-term and/or long-term goals inside USAA or externally
• Demonstrated business acumen in financial services and a proven ability to balance strategic thinking with practical implementation skills.
• Advanced level of effective executive level communications and facilitation experience

Preferred
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty products and financials.
• Experience communicating with senior leadership.
• Current or previous experience working as a client manager/advisor for a line of business.
• Bachelor degree.
• Experience working in a strategic planning Agile environment.
