Position Summary
The Treasury Specialist – Wire Sales plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company’s Finance functions. The role is primarily responsible, under direct to general supervision, for rotating between processing sales and wire transfers in an accurate and timely basis. This involves researching and correcting issues, preparing and inputting journal entries, submitting transfer requests, and performing other similar duties.
Essential Functions
• Sales Accounting Rotation:
• Monitor and track daily sales account proceeds and use information to minimize interest payments on lines of credit.
• Obtain purchase advice information from Secondary Marketing or third-party investors, accurately input purchase advice information into the electronic system and submit purchase advice to warehouse banks.
• Correct sales directed to the wrong location.
• Process wire transfers for miscellaneous funds.
• Ensure daily and monthly sales activity is appropriately recorded; perform daily and monthly reconciliations to ensure correct data.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Wire Transfer Rotation:
• Process funding wires with warehouse banks on an accurate and timely basis, providing clear posting instructions when appropriate.
• Collaborate with funders to correctly capture any late funding wires or to resolve issues.
• Monitor and report on credit line utilization.
• Obtain signatory approvals as needed.
• Process wire transfers for miscellaneous funds.
• Ensure daily and monthly wire transfer-related activity is appropriately recorded; perform daily and monthly reconciliations to ensure correct data.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
• Correct issues and respond to standard inquiries from colleagues, internal funders, and warehouse banks related to wire transfers.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, along with a minimum of two years experience in accounting or finance related role(s).
• Prior experience in mortgage banking and a general understanding of overall mortgage process rules and regulations, as well as the policies and ethical standards pertaining to wire transfers preferred.
• General knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits, reconciliations, balance sheets and income statements.
• Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required.
• Ability to analyze situations and choose appropriate course of action to resolve issues.
• Highly proficient in data entry and the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• 10-key by touch preferred.
• Ethical, with a commitment to company values.
Supervision
• Direct to general supervision, depending on experience
• Some independent judgment and discretion used in the execution of job duties, follows instructions accurately and escalates complex issues for advice and resolution

Requirements
Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Environmental: Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
