Description
Leads all aspects of the Information Security function in the business, including establishing, maintaining and monitoring the policies and procedures which promote the secure and uninterrupted operation of all data processing systems. Specific responsibilities include the establishment and communication of standards, procedures, and guidelines to prevent the unauthorized use, release, modification, or destruction of data in any form, review of systems designs to ensure essential security measures, monitoring systems usage to detect security violations, implementation of security procedures identified or required by internal auditors, external reviews and legal requirements, consulting on long range security planning, and providing state of the art technical information as requested, all in compliance with established company standards and policies. These responsibilities extend to reviews of central and distributed computer systems, including internet/intranet, Web page processing firewalls. May also be responsible for managing the vendor contracting process for the business, including requests for proposal development, vendor selection, vendor contract negotiation, vendor interactions and vendor contract performance.
Understands the SDLC methodologies and instructs teams on how to incorporate security controls in compliance with Enterprise standards into each phase. Provides leadership and direction through managers/directors. Is accountable for the performance and results of a function. Executes departmental business plans and contributes to the development of strategy for profit or corporate center. Decisions are guided by the strategy and priorities of the department.
Qualifications
• 10 years of relevant and progressive experience in Information Security and/or Fraud Mitigation, preferably in the Financial Services industry.
• Deep understanding of information security risk controls and a thorough knowledge of IT processes and controls
• Operational and Execution Mindset
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly execute on strategic decisions to drive organizational results
• Demonstrated strong communication skills at all levels within an organization.
• Ability to translate technical content into business understandable terms
• Strong positive leadership skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a team through a dynamic environment
• Strong partnering skills
• Ability and willingness to travel 15-25% of the time to alternate locations
