Our Personal Lines State Management department is seeking a Market Analyst to join our growing team in our Worcester MA or Howell MI offices.
Position summary:
Collaborates with State Managers, Regional Vice Presidents & Territory Sales Managers to provide business reporting and base line analysis at the Market and/or Agency level. The individual focus is on driving Personal Lines business results based on either growth state or core state initiatives, as established by the State Manager and RVP. With oversight, provides ongoing state and agency level reporting leveraged by field and state management teams.
This is a Full-time, Exempt role.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Analyze loss ratio and production trends at the Agency level, including root causes and recommendations for improvement.
Evaluate portfolio trends at the State, Market and Agency level including identifying outliers requiring deeper dive analysis.
Communicate findings and recommendations to State Manager, RVP and TSM. May include delivery of improvement plan to affected agents.
Analyzes blocks of business across geography, agency time and characteristics.
Work with individual State Managers to develop key metrics for success and report monthly/quarterly on progress
Begin to be involved in agency relationships and use data to work with field and state teams to better understand the market.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is required
1 – 3 years’ experience in financial or business analysis required
Skilled analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to evaluate and compile large amounts of complex data sets and reports
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated aptitude to comprehend business and financial based logic
Decision making skills
Identifies and executed to priorities. Recognizes problems and facilitates solutions.
