Position Overview
The Commercial Client Specialist provides administrative support to Commercial Relationship Managers in the processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing of commercial and real estate loans. This positions also assists with marketing initiatives, extensive client communication and follow-up, file maintenance, providing information necessary for loan preparation and organizing and scheduling of loan closings.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides administrative assistance to Commercial Relationship Managers with loan origination, processing, closing and ongoing commercial customer banking relationships
• Builds working relationships with commercial loan customers both in person and via phone inclusive of loan requests, account questions, loan payments, disbursement requests, and billing issues
• Requests and obtains necessary documentation, including but not limited to, title commitments, appraisals and environmental reports from third party providers such as attorneys, inspectors and appraisers
• Ensures accurate documentation is prepared for each loan prior to closing; reviews documents for accuracy and adherence to approval terms
• Processes invoices, fees collected and disbursed at closing to ensure accurate accounting tracking
• Prepares loan packages to be sent to centralized loan operations department for booking and document review; verifies accuracy of loan information once loan has been booked to Jack Henry/Silverlake Banking system; reconciles any discrepancies with loan operations
• Responsible for following up on receipt of required documentation subsequent to closing, including but not limited to, final title policies, recorded deed of trusts and assignments of rent, filed UCC’s, etc.
• Monitors weekly generated reports; works with Commercial Relationship Managers to resolve past due items, financial and loan documentation exceptions and loan review action items
• Works closely with centralized loan operations department with all aspects of processing, closing and booking of loans
• Completes, passes and maintains an up to date status for all positional and company required compliance and regulatory courses by assigned due date(s)
• Participates in special projects and assignments; performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience as a commercial loan administrative assistant with experience in most aspects of underwriting/processing/closing commercial loans for a similar type of financial institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to learn and operate department/bank specific loan origination software
• Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both orally and in writing with business unit management, customers, staff, state and federal regulators and officials and significant business partners
• Be able to deal with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instruction; ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion
• Ability to define problems. collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form
• Work includes limited travel throughout the assigned geographic area

Days: Monday – Friday
Time: 8am to 5pm
