Position Highlights
This position is responsible for answering incoming telephone inquiries regarding retirement plans from participants, employers and third party plan specialists. In addition to answering caller’s inquiries, representatives will provide callers with education regarding retirement planning options.
This position will support the State of TN contract.
Primary Responsibilities
• Answer incoming telephone inquiries including, but not limited to, requests for general account information, questions related to withdrawals (options, required steps and status) how to make account changes via automated channels and plan options.
• Addresses questions or concerns in relation to investment options including fund performance, fund education, and financial transaction process/completion. Must comply with FINRA/SEC guidelines.
• Proactively ask participants about prior retirement plans and provide education on options such as retirement plan consolidation, IRA options and other plan features.
• Assist participants by providing instructions regarding account changes via self service channels. Including but not limited to, financial transactions, loan modeling/initiation and distribution requests.
• Submits requests for research and follow-up if needed after the initial call. May be required to make outbound calls if necessary.
• Proactively review, comprehend and disseminate information related to plan
• Provide distribution and loan modeling and initiate requests according to plan provisions. Process account changes (address updates, contact information) including financial transactions.
• Perform mentoring, coaching and cross training of new and lower level staff.
• Assist management with call reviews of lower level staff
• Responsible for handling and responding to complex and escalated calls.
• Consistent adherence to work schedule and punctuality required.
Qualifications
• Associates Degree at minimum required, preferably in a business related field.
• Series 6 and 63 licenses required.
• Solid customer service experience is required, preferably in a financial service related field.
• Knowledge of retirement plans (401(k), 403b, 457, IRA, Defined Benefits) beneficial.
• Demonstrated flexibility in work hours and available to work during established call center hours.
• Able to take calls at least 83% of the day.
• Strong computer navigation skills between multiple computer programs/systems.
• Strong professional written communication skills.
• Ability to enhance caller experience with retirement readiness conversations.
