Our competitive intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Baird’s Corporate Finance and Accounting team provides accurate and timely financial information to aid in the management of the firm and support strategic decision making. Finance has a track record of success with interns across their various teams, all who have the ability to directly contribute to the success of the department. Interns apply business knowledge gained in the classroom to develop relevant professional experience while developing meaningful relationships.
We will have a variety of year round intern opportunities available in our Associate Financial Services, Baird Capital, Financial Planning and Analysis and Reporting teams. The internship is a minimum of 6 months and can extend up to 2 years dependent on graduation date, workload and intern performance.
Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, interns must be flexible to work a minimum of 18-20 daytime hours/week during the Spring and Fall semesters and 37.5-40 daytime hours/week during breaks and summer. We are targeting an August 2018 start date.
As an Financial Analyst - Tax Intern, you will:
• Assist the Tax team with tax reporting responsibilities and various special projects
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax filings for Baird, including data gathering and analysis
• Assist with property tax and sales/use filings
• Perform tax research and technical analysis
• Gather data as needed to respond to notices and audits
• Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

What we look for:
• Accounting or Finance major or related degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Targeting graduation dates of December 2019 and beyond.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet specific deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and reliability with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
