ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understands and analyzes credit scores, bankruptcy navigator scores, debt to income ratios and loan to value analysis
• Possesses a thorough understanding and capable of analyzing financial statements
• Reviews paystubs, W2 income, and analyzes consumer tax returns for income verification of applicants
• Reviews appraisals for loans secured by real estate to ensure the collateral meets the Bank’s standards
• Provides exceptional analytical and judgmental skills to underwrite a loan request for approval, counter offer or declination and documents loan decisions within the sales pro system
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies, guidelines and procedures and utilizes sound analytical judgment
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures required for this position
• Analyzes loan applications for credit risk and approves or rejects loan requests
• Records loan rejections, specifying institution guidelines and basis for declining application, such as insufficient income
• Responsible for conditioning, loan structuring, pricing, proofing and ensuring loan applications meet bank policy and guidelines before approving loan to be closed
• Responsible for consumer credit quality and bank delinquency for properly pricing and structuring loans for profitability
• Reviews the monthly Portfolio Review Report for credit quality and possible line closure – products include Handy Line, PLOC’s, HELOC’s and Credit Cards.
• Identifies and decisions additional cross sell opportunities within the loan application
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience of lending and reviewing credit bureaus
• Proficient operation of computer, and computer based software programs.
