The Bank Relations team is seeking a professional who is looking to manage a team and the process, partner with teams across the firm as well as our custody and agent bank relationships to maximize commercial and operational value for the firm.
OUR IMPACT
Bank Relations (BR) is a global team responsible for managing strategic relationships with the firm’s network of agent banks vendors. The team’s goals are to establish, enhance and maintain these relationships in order to derive the maximum commercial and operational value for the firm. BR leverages its agent bank network to develop creative industry solutions while ensuring the highest level of service quality and risk management. The team works closely with multiple divisions across the firm to accomplish its goals.
HOW WILL YOU FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Partner with global Bank Relations managers to lead the global team in proactively managing external agent bank relationships for GS to achieve the firm’s commercial and strategic goals
• Manage a team of subject matter experts in the Bank Account Management (BAM) team on the external opening, maintenance and closure of the firm’s cash and securities bank accounts, including client accounts in client-specific markets Field escalations from regional team and stakeholders
• Contribute to the crafting of the team’s global strategy and help drive the implementation – including KPI, KRI and other metrics used for the monitoring, oversight and progression of the team
• Evaluate new business proposals to assess impact to the BAM process with the firm’s agent bank network and further suggest methodologies in executing business facilitation strategies and tactical business solutions
• Represent the Bank Relations team in industry and regulatory initiatives in collaboration with the global Bank Relations management team and other internal divisions
• Engage with team to provide input, guidance and sign-off on various aspects of the team’s workflow design, including, but not limited to the streamlining and standardization of procedures covering the front-to-back BAM process
• Lead discussions with agent banks, the BAM team and other internal teams to complete onboarding and periodic Know Your Customer (KYC) Due Diligence processes for Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries
• Utilize strong negotiation skills which include engaging our agent bank network on multiple topics that require negotiations to achieve the most favorable outcomes
• Oversee the terms and conditions (T&Cs) contract review process between GS and its network of agent bank through collaboration with the Legal Division to enhance the portfolio of terms that governs the relationships between GS and each agent bank
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
• Minimum of 6 years of professional and relevant experience
• A proactive self-starter, able to manage own time, priorities and independently identify and complete tasks
• Strong delivery focus with a proven track record of achieving results and demonstrating proficiency in managing multiple competing tasks on a daily basis
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Highly detail oriented
• Ability to operate independently and effectively drive multiple initiatives
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
