Overview
Manager of Accounting oversees compliance with the corporate accounting system to ensure the financial position of the company is properly reflected at the consolidated level as well as at each of the subsidiaries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures correct reporting requirements are maintained to provide management with adequate operating and financial data for the region departments.
• Manage the month end close process.
• Ensures internal controls are followed by overseeing that established accounting procedures are maintained in the related areas. Periodically review the management information needs of the bank and recommend modifications to the reporting system if needed.
• Directs the accounting functions and the accounting personnel of the bank.
• Oversees the accrual accounting function for all income and expense accruals.
• Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the fixed asset records.
• Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial report and/or legal documents
• Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, top management, public groups and/or boards of directors
Education and/or Experience
• BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting
• 6-8 years of finance leadership or industry-related experience required
Computer Skills
• MS Office programs
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• CPA licensure required
