Director, Product Management – Commerce Platforms
Overview
Commerce Platforms (such as digital wallets, social networks, connected cars, and smart homes) are digital players that enroll consumers, store their payment credentials, and connect them to potentially thousands of online merchants. These innovative players are driving card-on-file spend and becoming increasingly important to the card payments ecosystem.
The Director, Product Management - Commerce Platforms, will focus on defining Mastercard's strategy for tokenizing and enabling Mastercard cards in Commerce Platforms. The candidate will own the product, establish the commercial program, manage product lifecycle, and work cross-functionally to launch the product across global markets.
Role
• Product management of Mastercard’s tokenization service for card-on-file credentials stored by Commerce Platforms.
• This role will focus on defining the strategic vision and managing end-to-end product lifecycle of MDES for Commerce Platforms, with the goals of securing and scaling Mastercard payments in the digital ecosystem.
• Define and document the program, rules, commercial construct, pricing, legal requirements, and customer onboarding processes.
• Create a global product development roadmap leveraging the Digital Products prioritization and planning process.
• Align the program with industry standards.
• Work closely with Digital Product Management, Platforms, Operations & Technology, and regional product teams to create, build, and launch the product.
• Partner with Mastercard’s sales and regional product teams to bring new Commerce Platforms onboard.
• Work with regional teams to educate and influence customers – Develop and (as required) deliver an external education program to educate and influence the value chain.
All About You
• In-depth experience with a variety of digital payment types and solutions.
• Direct experience with digital payment service providers (PSP), payment facilitators, or payment gateway service providers is a big plus.
• Moderate understanding of web services and backend technical processes.
• Ability to mix technical knowledge with practical real world experience to bridge between business and technology.
• Understanding of Mastercard’s sales process to traditional customers (Financial Institutions) as well Non-Financial Institution customers (merchants and technology partners).
• Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, project management, and matrix-management skills are critical.
• Ability to influence internal and external business partners
• A proven track record providing product expertise and or training to both internal and external customers
• Business Acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results to the customer and Mastercard.
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment

• Bachelor’s degree required, having an MBA is a plus
