Description
This position exists to advance the business by championing the development of new products. This involves working with the Senior Leadership Team and with Product Managers to identify ideas for new products and to assess their viability. When a product idea is determined to be viable, the incumbent creates project teams across the business unit and its Corporate partners, to develop and implement the product. The incumbent takes the leadership role with these teams and has ultimate accountability for delivering on objectives, and will also perform similar functions for major enhancements to add new functionality to existing products.

The Individual Solutions Group is seeking a Vice President, Product & Services to take a lead role in partnering across Prudential US Businesses to ideate and co-create solution requirements (product, advice, service) to meet consumer needs. This individual will define a strategic roadmap and should have deep product knowledge expertise.
This is a hands-on role where you will work independently while still collaborating closely with product development and management, distribution, technology, marketing, finance, and control partners as part of the day-to-day execution. You will need to be both influential, willing to advocate for an idea, and collaborative – realizing no one person has all the answers to ensure we all end up with the best result for consumers.
The VP will have broad responsibilities, including:
• Work closely with partners to define product or service requirements to meet customer, channel, internal operations and third-party partner needs
• Proactively leverage internal and external data and research to develop a detailed, strategic framework for products and services Prudential should bring to the marketplace
• Partner to develop prioritized solution learning agendas and ‘go to market’ concepts
• Establish and set key benchmarks, performance indicators and success measures for each initiative
• Monitor performance of strategies and plans to evaluate business impact and define opportunities to optimize.
Qualifications
• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in product development and/or strategy roles
• Comfort working in a creative, fast paced, ambiguous and demanding environment
• Ability to operate independently and in a team environment
• Ability to lead a consultative dialogue to drive and influence strategic business outcomes
• Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities and translating opportunities into actionable solutions
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must have a collaborative approach to prioritize multiple streams of work
• Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to present to a wide range of internal and external audiences as well as well honed interpersonal skills
• Understanding of life insurance, annuities and financial products, services, distribution and concepts is required
• Willing to travel up to 35% of their time
• Preferred location = Newark; Willing to consider Northeast location with presence in Newark
