The Corporate Communications Specialist writes and develops corporate communication materials that are designed to create and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and oversees the sharing and distribution of communications on multiple channels.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Write, edit and develop communication materials in support of team member communications designed to promote company mission, values, standards, strategic initiatives, business objectives, career and benefits information, and other critical information with team members at all levels.
• Manage the sharing and distribution of corporate communications on multiple channels, including but not limited to email, newsletters, and company intranet.
• Handle promotion, including driving engagement, of the company intranet and internal social channel.
• Support other communication, marketing, training and corporate social responsibility efforts throughout the company through collaboration and integrated messaging.
• As needed, support drafting of external-facing communication materials including social media content and online blog content designed to promote a favorable perception of the company’s reputation with external audiences including customers, stakeholders and media.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in team member communications, corporate public relations, or related experience.
• Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of news, feature and online writing styles.
• Presentation and public relations skills to support company leaders as they communicate and persuade a wide range of audiences.
• Interpersonal skills to relate with staff at all levels throughout the company to remain aware of potentially newsworthy developments.
• Working knowledge of AP journalistic style standards.
• Working knowledge of content management systems.
• Working knowledge of public relations and corporate communication principles and practices.
• Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize and balance multiple initiatives.
