Job Description
Position Description
The Ally Privacy Compliance Director will work with our business operations and technology partners, as well as third party vendors, to identify compliance risks within the governing laws, rules and regulations. They also work across the enterprise to address a full range of topics from governance and policy, to data protection, privacy event management, privacy notice oversight and distribution, management of privacy marketing and sharing preferences.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop, monitor and report on the health of Privacy -- e.g. metrics, trends, etc.
• Assist with the creation of Board and Committee presentations
• Support governance routines through participation in meetings, reviews and approvals, etc.
• Develop, and review annually, supporting Privacy policies, standards and procedures.
• Review and provide annual Privacy course material (internal Learning Management System tool)
• Develop Privacy training and awareness strategies
• Partner with Legal on interpretation and applicability of Privacy laws, rules and regulations
• Provide guidance across the enterprise on new product, service or third-party vendor implementation
• Monitor privacy related complaints for trends and to ensure proper resolution
• Liaise with federal and state regulators, as well as, Audit, as needed
• Enforce and monitor information sharing policies and controls
• Develop and maintain data flows for the collection, use and storage/ retention of customer data
• Perform reviews of preference and consent management policies and controls to ensure compliance
• Perform annual review and distribution of Privacy Notice(s)
• Oversee privacy event management and breach notification process
• Perform privacy impact/risk assessments
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of general Privacy experience in the financial services industry
• Knowledge of Privacy related federal and state laws, rules and regulations, e.g. GLBA, Regulation P, GDPR, FCRA, etc.
• Ability to make decisions independently and clearly articulate them to a broad audience
• Excellent relationship building skills - ability to consider multiple viewpoints
• Solid Presentation skills
• Strategic thinker -- process oriented
• Proficient in Visio, Power Point, Excel and Word and the digital world
• Experience in performing data protection and privacy assessments against the relevant regulations
• Experience working with government regulatory agencies such as the FDIC, FRB, CFPB, etc.
• Assess the impact of current/emerging data protection and privacy regulations on the organization
• Strong leadership skills
• Preferred Certifications: CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT
