Summary
The Director, Business Solutions Delivery role is accountable for strategy, work planning, prioritization/sequencing, and delivery of high quality work for one or more business units. You will optimize and balance the demands of business with work types and delivery solution frameworks. You will lead both work and the people who do the work; direct reports include, but are not limited to: Portfolio Leaders and People Development Leaders. Mastery of developing and maintaining strong business relationships with senior executives, peers, partners and direct reports is critical.

•Creates a positive culture and team dynamics by recognizing the exponential value that different perspectives and cultures bring to Thrivent. Demonstrates a high level of modeling and coaching of all of the Thrivent leadership competencies.
•Ensures everyone can articulate and act upon their personal and professional development goals, diversity and inclusion goals, key strengths and skills, and their focus areas for improvement.
•Consistent with our Performance Management process, meets with team members to discuss performance, career aspiration, development, and to provide feedback/coaching. Proactively plans the talent needs to ensure appropriate staffing and capability/skillset development.
Drives customer value, business impact, leads change and advocates agility.
•Partners with business and finance to determine investment planning, portfolio allocations, and consult with senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment of work, support management, risk assessments, investment and business value (ROI, IRR). Budgets will range from $10-$25 million.
•Communicates the impact of new or modified services or work elements in terms of investment, capacity, contingency, and infrastructure.
•Use standard delivery practices to coordinate with stakeholders to ensure prioritization and completion of work, with minimal operational and business disruption.
•Provides strategic leadership and ensures the successful alignment of goals and objectives, which are somewhat complex in nature and have significant impact on the business unit's profitability and strategic direction.
•Defines department/corporate initiatives, including continuous improvement activities for program/department/business.
Makes sound decisions and leverages key relationships to achieve results.
•Makes key decisions regarding technology direction, acquisition, and application that can have significant impact on the achievement of business goals for the business unit, function, or area led, as well as may have a broader impact on key technological or strategic areas for Thrivent.
•Establishes and maintains trusted business relationships with Executives, Senior Management, Partners, and Stakeholders.
•Understands, develops and presents “trade-off scenarios” to senior leaders so they have the transparency into and clarity around work priority and understand how to best leverage peoples for optimal business value delivery. Coordinate and align with appropriate leaders to optimize business value delivery.
•Thinks creatively and analytically to best leverage people in a way that optimizes business value delivery, empowers and unleashes team talents, while streamlining prioritization and delivery.
Job Qualifications
•Bachelors degree required.
•Over 8 years’ in business, IT, Agile, programs and/or projects or experience providing leadership to large, complex initiatives or work efforts.
•Knowledge of and experience in working with multiple existing and new business development groups.
•Strong ability to lead and influence without authority across silos, at all levels of the organization.
•Over 5 years people leadership experience, with emphasis in people development and coaching.
•May have 10-15 direct reports, and up to 40-60 indirect reports.
•Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) disciplines preferred.
