Role Value Proposition:
The Director, US Marketing Science – Group Benefits National Accounts will play a critical role in helping the business set a strategic vision based on a comprehensive understanding of consumer and marketplace dynamics. This director will be responsible for developing and implementing market research plans to deliver against critical business objectives, including monitoring the external market for new trends and opportunities. This director will also be responsible for independently developing key actionable insights that are relevant to marketing and that influence strategy of the Group benefits businesses in US National Accounts. This director will be a key member of the US Marketing Science team, the US Marketing organization and the broader US Group Benefits business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively identify and recommend research agenda for partners based on solid understanding of business goals and current knowledge gaps.
• Develop key actionable insights, implications & recommendations for commissioned research. Lead writing of presentations and reports and disseminate and socialize key findings across key business partners/stakeholders & senior management
• Plays a leadership role in shaping developing value propositions and thought leadership/sales stories for Group in collaboration with manager
• Partner with research suppliers. Develop strategic partnerships to extract more value for MetLife.
• Partner with US Group Benefits Marketing to build communications development, optimization and understanding of the moments that matter into a core competency
• Work closely with AVP, US Marketing Science Group Benefits on business planning and learning plan development for group marketing and national accounts.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Minimum of 9 years of marketing research experience, including marketing analytics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuasively influence all levels of leadership to implement action steps that drive business results.
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving diagnosis (i.e., asking scoping questions to understand what the business partner needs, as opposed to the information they want); active listening to understand the problems from the client's perspective; disagreeing with a business partner when appropriate.
• Excellent analytic skills and ability to translate data and learnings into actionable recommendations for business growth.
• Driven to learn, grow and stretch as a member of an evolving Marketing Science and Marketing organization.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA
• Previous experience in brand management and/or marketing strategy
