Join our Glen Allen office as an Internal Communications Lead, collaborating with senior leaders, business lines, and marketing professionals to develop, manage, and implement a clear, effective, and targeted communications strategy. In this role, you will help drive employee engagement and motivation, foster a continued and robust understanding of Firm strategies, and convey the Firm’s shared values, mission, operations, goals, associate experiences, and activities firm-wide. This position will require copywriting skills, and previous management experience is preferred.
What your day looks like:
• Creates and executes integrated, creative internal communications plans for firm-wide and cross-functional initiatives and campaigns.
• Meets with stakeholders throughout the Firm to establish internal communications calendar and proactively meets the deadlines for those initiatives.
• Establishes relationships with Firm leaders to be able to write in various “voices.”
• Provides input on overall design and strategy for intranet and email communications.
• Manages content on the Firm intranet. Develops and contributes editorial content on a regular basis for the firm intranet.
• Coordinates upgrades to the intranet site when needed.
• Manages internal graphic designer.
• Writes/edits and oversees production of clear, concise copy for publications and executive communications, including PowerPoint presentations and speeches.
• Works closely with the Marketing team to integrate communications strategies across delivery channels and leverages content.
• Tracks and measures the success of internal communications strategies and campaigns.
• Provides communications support to all internal departments to effectively communicate key messages and build internal branding.
• Creates and manages communication strategies for Alumni program to ensure relationships are maintained.
What you need for this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or other related field plus 5+ years’ of progressive experience in successfully coordinating internal communications
• Expertise and experience in providing advice and counsel to senior management on communications initiatives. Strong relationship builder and influencer who is comfortable working with leaders at all levels
• Proven track record for superb written and oral communications; excellent proofreading and editing skills; a keen attention to detail
• Familiarity with web design, photo editing, email platforms and managing site metrics
• Enthusiasm and interest in existing and emerging communications channels, including video
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines; ability to prioritize and manage a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously
• Creative thinker who embraces and drives change
• Must be a professional, extremely organized, enthusiastic, and flexible team player who can work independently
• Ability to travel 10-20%
