Claims Loss Reporting Representative
This position is in the CAIP (Commercial Auto Insurance Procedure) and SAIP (Special Automobile Insurance Policy) Claims Loss Reporting Unit. CAIP provides insurance for the residual market. When a business cannot find an insurance company that is willing to cover its auto needs, an agent can place that risk with an insurance plan run by the state. CAIP typically covers higher risk vehicles such as truckers, personal transfer, gas haulers, buses, taxis and limousines. SAIP provides emergency room care and catastrophic care to qualified Medicaid recipients who receive hospitalization benefits. Such drivers can obtain a medical coverage-only policy at a cost of $365 a year. Our claims are processed via phone and mail.
Our Claims Loss Report reps are responsible for taking incoming calls for both new and existing losses. Reps will obtain and enter new loss information into the loss taking system, complete and mail forms and letters, assign vehicle damage appraisals, and order police reports. Reps will also make outbound contact calls to parties listed in the claim in order to obtain/confirm basic loss information.
Training – The 4 to 6 week process will be spent learning the CAIP and SAIP products, loss taking systems and phone procedures. After training, an audit for both paper losses and phone losses must be completed with minimal red flags.
Work Schedule –Monday – Friday 10:15 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Training Schedule - Monday – Friday 9:00 - 5:45 for the first 2 months (could last longer depending on progression)
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
-High School diploma or GED.
-Proven customer service experience and background
-Phone experience in taking and placing calls to customers and external groups
-Proficient in computer window-based programs with exceptional system and Internet navigational skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to be flexible in a changing work environment
-Ability to handle stress, work independently, and multi-task in a high volume call center environment.
