The Vice President of Process Architecture is responsible for a broad range of critical activities but has primary focus on leading the definition, development, and implementation of new work streams and service models within the Life division. This individual will challenge all current-state processes and procedures and adopt “best in class” business practices and technology into Core Operations, working and reporting primarily to Senior leadership. Responsibilities include facilitating strategic blue sky sessions, performing executive project oversight, creating detailed project/test plans, and vetting potential vendors.

As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
• Work closely with the Life and Retirement leadership team to increase alignment between Department Leaders on key strategic initiatives. Lead the effort to find common solutions to process and technology problems.
• Provide project management and strategic oversight on key strategic projects for Life and Retirement Department Leaders
• Lead efforts in the creation, implementation and management of Core Life and Retirement workflows that provide significant value to our customers and are consistent or better than best industry practices. This includes leading blue sky sessions with senior leaders, working directly with vendors to explore new products and partnerships, and aligning with all areas within L&R to provide holistic solutions and enhanced service models within all operational areas.
• Create alignment on delivery for key technology tools and help to create process standardization across Life and Retirement.
• Develop and implement a Core Life and Retirement reporting system to allow insights and drill-down into key operating metrics used to manage direction and staffing needs
• Develop communications for key strategic projects, helping prioritize planning activities and mitigate risks that have a cross-departmental impact.
• Actively participate in the Life Operations & Systems Leadership Team to execute on strategic initiatives, as well as, oversee and manage operational changes.
• Serve as a liaison to key stakeholders and external parties on behalf of the Life and Retirement Leadership Team.
• Develop quantifiable metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of activities and to validate achievement of targeted benefits.
• Proactively identify potential gaps in business delivery for change initiatives and facilitate actions to close issues and mitigate risks.
• Bolster the Customer Culture within the organization, with emphasis on strategies that impact Customer Experience and Customer Loyalty.
What we are looking for
• Extensive knowledge of the life insurance business, including multiple distribution channels and business processes.
• 10+ years insurance industry experience with a demonstrated deep understanding of Insurance Operations, Technology, Automation, external vendors, and workflows.
• Extensive experience in managing large scale projects with direct line accountability to seniors levels within an organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree a plus.
• Strategic, creative, analytical and financial acumen, as well as, a strong business intellect and action orientation.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence various levels of management, and to work across diverse business functions and teams that are geographically dispersed.
• Ability to handle fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
• Proven record required for effectively leading teams, providing direction, motivating and growing employees to drive high levels of performance.
