Description
May be filled on any of the following shifts:
1st shift - 7:30am-3:30pm
2nd shift - 3:30pm-11:30pm
3rd shift - 11:30pm - 7:30pm
As a machine operator you will:
• Operate/Monitor Equipment: process work according to shop paper department instructions and/or client expectations to plastics and print mail product for mailing. Use shop paper instructions to pick plastics and paper collateral for jobs to be processed. May include manually inserting collateral into envelopes, mailing packages, feeding and unloading zip sort equipment.
• Update Information Management System: use PCs to interact with various information management systems for job instructions and to update the status of jobs.
• Troubleshoot Problems: resolve issues with unclear instructions from clients and various instruction tools that are used in day to day activities. Identify material issues and escalate as needed. Address quality and productivity issues with team-members and escalate to product owners.
• Perform Quality Checks: inspect completed work using appropriate procedures and methods. Verify correct material using detailed job instructions. Verify products in accordance with industry standards. Complete a visual inspection on up to 100,000 documents and 40,000 personalized products. Document required quality checks. Participate in problem resolution and root cause analysis. Investigate in client reported defects (internal and external) and assist with the implementation of revised procedures.
Successful candidates will be working in collaborative environment, where collectively, team members will be working towards the same production and quality goals. First Data will train and help successful candidates to ensure proficiency with operating the equipment.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Basic PC operating skills (e.g. Microsoft Windows)
• Ability to stand the majority of an eight hour shift
• Ability to intermittently lift between 30 to 40 pounds
• Must be able to read and comprehend basic work-related instructions such as training materials, policies, work orders and other media communications, in English
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
• Previous production experience, preferred
• Enrollment in a post-secondary program (e.g. college, vocational program, etc.), preferred
