Pricing Analyst
As a Pricing Analyst in our Commercial Lines division, you will have the opportunity to work with the #1 writer of commercial auto insurance in the United States. Using your strong math and analytical skills, you will manipulate and analyze large data sets, execute actuarial models, recommend appropriate price levels to state management teams, and interact with state government regulators. As a direct line of support for our product offerings, your recommendations will influence Progressive's ability to appropriately price our Commercial Lines business for future success.
Must have qualifications
• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics or related field of study.
• Minimum of one year property casualty insurance experience or related professional experience (e.g., analytical work in a professional setting).

• This position is subject to online pre-employment testing for external candidates.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize.
• Understands company systems, databases, applications, our business and processes.
• Demonstrates basic to intermediate SAS and SQL programming skills including the ability to create basic programs.
• Demonstrates intermediate skills in Excel including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets. Knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing.
• Demonstrates intermediate MS office skills.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred skills
• Incorporate company, industry, and competitor information into holistic recommendations;
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses using data analysis tools. Experience with Excel, PowerPivot, Access, R, SAS, SQL, or Tableau a plus;
• Conduct formal statistical analyses (for example, weighted regression) using R or SAS as needed - including interpreting diagnostic information;
• Excellent communication skills required - including visualization of quantitative information for non-technical audiences.
