RBC Capital Markets seeks a Vice President, Options Trader in New York, NY to be an active market maker in interest rate options and related derivatives, participate in the risks management of structured rates product portfolios, and produce client revenue by generating and executing trade ideas for a broad range of domestic and international clients. Provide liquidity by making markets to asset management companies, insurance firms, mortgage servicers, pension funds and corporate clients in USD swaptions, cap/floors, Bermudan options. Optimize risk management of current positions by trading various interest rate securities primarily European swaptions and cap/floors with other dealers in the OTC broker market, exchange traded interest rate futures and options (on CME and CBOT), interest rate swaps and USD Treasury/Treasury spreads. Develop quantitative tools in Excel VBA to support desk activities including determining relative value opportunities between exchange traded and OTC interest rate options, understanding risks for the current portfolio under various rate and volatility scenarios, and rich/cheap analysis on the interest rate volatility surface.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering or related quantitative field, and 5 years of experience in interest rate options pricing, execution, and risk management, including vanilla swaptions, cap/floors, Bermudan options, midcurve options, CME/CBOT listed options, money market instruments trading and risk management (LIBOR FRAs, Eurodollar futures, fed funds), treasury securities trading and risk management (cash treasury securities, exchange listed treasury futures, and LIBOR swaps), and quantitative and statistical analyses on derivative products, including principle component analyses, volatility surface interpolation and extrapolation, implied/realized volatility analysis, relative value analysis between cash and OTC basis.
