Internal Auditor Consultant, Senior - Data Analytics
What does a great Audit Consultant, Senior – Data Analytics do?
The Audit Consultant, Senior – Data Analytics will be part of the Corporate Audit Services (CAS) team which is responsible for executing IT, financial and operational internal audits and advisory engagements throughout the organization and its functions. The candidate will have analytical skills and possess the ability to interpret data from a variety of sources for complex analysis and decision making.
The role will be primarily responsible for working with business units to gather data from various systems in order to develop metrics, reports and/or dashboards with tools such as SQL, Microsoft Office, Power BI or ACL. Additionally, the successful candidate may participate and execute on a variety of audit and advisory engagements in order to support the function and enhance their business acumen. The candidate will report to the Vice President, Regulatory, Risk & Insights. Travel may be required 10-20%, primarily domestically and as necessary, internationally.
Responsibilities
Support Corporate Audit Services team in identifying opportunities to leverage data analysis in audit and advisory engagements. Understand the in-scope business risk and associated business processes Evaluate the business operations to identify and develop data driven objectives and KPIs for testing and monitoring. Partner with source system owners to:
• Understand the database schematics and data sets related to the identified KPIs.
• Validate complete collection and quality of data while adhering to data governance protocols.
Develop, implement, and maintain existing/new reports and dashboards from various source systems’ data to assess and test risks and controls. Analyze and mine complex business data sets to identify and interpret patterns, trends and correlations among the various data sets. Utilize analysis to document observations and potential issues for use in audit reporting Communicate results through reports and presentations to provide additional operational and business insight. Serve as part of the Corporate Audit Services team, executing audit procedures as directed.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Economics, Math or other related fields from an accredited university
• Experience in business analysis, data analysis, or data visualization roles
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview, etc.)
• Ability to identify and evaluate business processes using various kinds of techniques
• Experience with collecting, classifying, and analyzing business data
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
• Professional business background in the financial services or technology industry
• Big 4 or Fortune 500 audit experience
• ERP business/system knowledge (e.g., SAP, Workday, etc.)
• Data visualization/analytics tools experience (e.g., SAS, ACL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.)
• Knowledge of statistical /data mining methods and successful business applications
• Knowledge of audit methodology and practices
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CISSP, CIA)
