The Director Program Management role will drive a customer-focused view of developing and managing technology product roadmaps for the decision management platform (DMP) jointly with development, operations teams, product and regional counterparts. The Director will also obsess about defining, measuring and communicating the value of our technology investments to our business and technology partners. This individual will further embed the Technology Business Management (TBM) discipline across the company to ensure we are making business-based decisions around our solutions while manage the overall investment in our decision management platform. SPM’s will also own demand intake and prioritization, investment management, capacity planning and supporting development teams with program governance and release planning. Provides measurable input and drives new globally impacting program/project level processes, tools and standards. Continue to drive our SAFe maturity across the program.
Major Accountabilities:
•Provide business knowledge, financial and technical support for systems development. Work closely with project members and requesters identifying deliverables and functions throughout a project lifecycle.
•Provide leadership and oversight on various projects of a highly complex nature. Responsible for planning, developing, and executing schedules to ensure timely completion of project deadlines and milestones as well as assurance that the projects is meeting all the needs of their project sponsor.
•Ensure methodology compliance and manage resolutions, reporting to management when necessary.
•Ensure timely and accurate communication with project staff throughout the life cycle of the project.
•Monitor and manage the project budget.
•Assist in developing the system’s scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the teams. Identify and monitor project risks and develop response plans when necessary.
•Regularly communicate to senior management regarding the status of specific project deliverables.
•Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business. Drive the project team to align with the business objectives, project schedule, and project budget. Effectively deal with difficult situations. Develop solutions to complex problems.
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree preferred •PMP certification preferred Knowledge / Experience:
•Management experience leading large scale teams by applying extended expertise of principles, theories, and concepts.
•Project management processes and techniques and structured methodology and project planning tools experience.
•Knowledge of MasterCard and the payments industry preferred.
•Extensive knowledge of program/project management processes and techniques.
•Extensive experience with structured methodology and project planning tools. Skills/ Abilities:
•Listening, oral, written and presentation skills and effective interpersonal skills.
•Organizational and planning and multi-tasking skills.
•Previous people management experience required
•Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills required with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships.
•Demonstrate ethics and values to generate high team trust. Work Conditions:
