Global Account Development Manager – Chicago, NY Tristate area, Boston, Washington, DC
The Global Client Group resides within Global Corporate Payments Organization. This position is an account management role partnering with our most strategic, bluebox partners. Overall responsibilities include:
• The retention and expansion of a portfolio of Global Commercial Card accounts in the Global Client Group with strong focus on B2B expansion.
• Qualified candidate must provide proactive consultation to enhance customer relationships and to drive program growth in B2B and T&E, profitability, client satisfaction and ongoing retention.
• Create strategic vision, action plans and set goals in a manner that will encourage opportunities for global expansion and cross selling.
• Provide consulting to our clients on their P2P strategy, including leading process improvement projects, vendor rationalization studies, and implementing our B2B solutions.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of B2B payment solutions, key procurement processes and systems with proven success to drive growth in this area with a consultative approach.
• Experience interfacing with senior audiences across treasury, AP, finance and procurement.
• Ownership of global strategic business plan that incorporate strategies and actions for penetrating relationships across business units and service units including metrics of success and regular, formal reviews.
• Maintaining detailed understanding of the customers’ business, their organizational goals and objectives.
• Accountability in developing broad and deep relationships at all levels organizationally and globally- both internally and externally.
• Understand and communicate the American Express premium value we deliver on a customer by customer basis with formal quantification of that unique value.
• Work with key contacts across Amex to cross-sell complimentary products and services including those designed for Commercial Card customers such as Meeting Card, Platinum Card and B2B solutions, as well as other Amex products.
• Consult with client and interface with key linkages and operations to ensure that service quality and contractual obligations are met/exceeded.
• Resolve issues using formal project and or action plans when required.
• Proactively provide expertise on policies, bench-marking, and recommendations to optimize programs, reduce costs and drive efficiencies for clients.
Qualifications
Seeking a minimum of 5 years prior strategic relationship management and/or sales experience. Ideal skill set includes the following:
• Must possess a sense of urgency to drive results; must have real examples that speak to this ability.
• Experience with managing complex and challenging clients.
• Ability to foster and build new executive relationships and work past gate-keepers.
• Demonstrate a deep resilience to drive results and win.
• Entrepreneurial approach to portfolio management; able to identify opportunities and mange through sales process.
• Innovative and collaborative approach to solving problems and overcome barriers impacting client value or growth.
• Strong power point deck building skills required.
• Proven relationship management skills demonstrating a comfort level and effectiveness in seeking out and establishing relationships at C levels and within cross-functional areas within Fortune 500 companies.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
• Ability to gain in-depth understanding of client needs, to develop and execute a client-focused account plan with limited support and guidance.
• Ability to effectively present products, technical solutions, and financials to clients in a strategic manner.
• Must be able to work in a virtual environment.
• Ability to effectively influence and manage change and display solid leadership skills.
• Sells with integrity, in alignment with compliance and internal partner business requirements.
• Candidate selected will be required to successfully complete role certification training specific to this position.
