Sentry is seeking a Director of Corporate Compliance to develop, implement and oversee Sentry’s compliance programs. You’ll work with your team and partners throughout the organization to prevent, detect and ensure compliance with applicable laws and/or Sentry policies.
What You'll Do
You will oversee compliance professionals in the review of business processes, reporting of findings, and remediation of any compliance issues. Monitors changes in laws and organizational policies to ensure compliance procedures remain in alignment and business units remain compliant. Develops and implements educational and training programs that focus on the elements of the compliance program. Creates communication plans to promote a culture of compliance and provide an enterprise-wide view. Additionally, you’ll:
• Develop and implement operational strategies that ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations by establishing critical measurements, evaluating trends, resolving problems, and implementing changes.
• Develop and implement compliance processes and tools to monitor, track, and evaluate existing and newly developed procedures ensuring compliance obligations are maintained and the organization is protected. Identifies and implements process enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance program.
• Oversee the identification or investigation into reports of potential compliance weaknesses and risks ensuring findings are documented and reported to appropriate parties. Manages development and implementation of corrective action plans to resolve non-compliance issues and provides guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
• Works cross-functionally with Legal, business units, and Corporate Compliance Committee to ensure that the organization has developed, implemented and trained on all appropriate policies and procedures relating to compliance-related initiatives.
• Oversee compliance professionals in conducting follow-ups with business units to evaluate the agreed upon action plans due to the compliance monitoring.
• Represents Sentry with external auditors and government agencies by responding to inquiries and managing compliance reviews.
Maintains awareness and understanding of current regulations and changes in laws ensuring the Chief Compliance Officer and necessary management are aware of changes affecting their operation and remain compliant.
What it Takes
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 5-8 years of experience with corporate compliance programs
• Strong communications, human relations and analytics skills
• Working knowledge of current federal and state regulations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• High organizational skills and attention to detail
• Skilled at problem identification and development of action plans
• Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) a plus
