Overview
The Marketing Director of professional services will work to strengthen First Republic’s ability to: (i) increase our value proposition and reputation for serving professional services and the individuals that lead and support them; (ii) Generate deposit and lending opportunities at both the institutional and individual levels; and (iii) expand our efforts into subsectors. The Marketing Director will work with Business Banking, Marketing, Deposit Services, Wealth Management, and other units to implement client solutions and overall growth for the bank in the professional services sector.
The Marketing Manager will accomplish the above by leading the following duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities
• Enhance professional services marketing offerings including:
◦ Work with data teams to understand market share and prospecting opportunities
◦ Create logo sheets for each geography / industry vertical
◦ Enhance the professional services landing pages and/or create microsites
◦ Identify new advertising venues and audit existing ones
◦ Develop standard presentation templates, including pitch-books
◦ Implement targeted mailings with follow-up strategies
◦ Create a professional services book of testimonials by region or industry
◦ Identify other methods to increase brand awareness
◦ Plan strategic events for clients/prospects and identify conferences as sponsorship opportunities
◦ Identifying other methods to increase brand awareness.
• Establish First Republic as a thought leader through the following methods:
◦ Coordinate the creation of articles, interviews, eBooks and white papers that leverage banker knowledge and client expertise; publish/distribute this content through our various channels
◦ Create event opportunities to engage Executives and Trustees
◦ Develop and execute client and prospect peer gatherings (e.g. CFO Dinners)
◦ Build Financial Executive Alliance (FEA) professional services groups
• Organize client events such as:
◦ Hosting closing dinners with clients and referral sources
◦ Providing educational speakers to board meetings, leadership off sites
• Develop consistent method to track performance data and disseminate to senior management.
• Develop individualized client acquisition and cross-sell strategies with sales team specializing in Professional Services and Technology.
• Share best practices and innovations with other industry specialists within the Bank.
• Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities or as assigned by supervisor.
Participate in the development of department policies and/or procedures and assist with client specific projects as assigned.
• Responsibilities include the following: 1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.) 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a related role
• Previous experience in financial services and marketing background
• Strong communication skills: writing, analytical and presentation skills. Ability to understand complex programs and translate into clear communications (written, graphical, architectural, and verbal). Strong command of Word, PowerPoint and Excel applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including executives, across many disciplines
• Ability to translate both qualitative and quantitative data into actionable business goals
• Strategic thinker with a results orientation who approaches any challenge with thoughtfulness, drive and appropriate urgency
• Collaborative and “hands-on” team leader and player who builds strong relationships internally and externally, and works well under pressure, thriving under tight deadlines
• Bachelor degree in business/marketing or equivalent
• Eye for design and style, visual arts background is a plus
• Event hospitality experience is a plus
Mental/Physical Requirements:
• Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
• Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.
• Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions.
• Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
• Must be able to travel in a limited capacity.
