Provide direct leadership, direction and management for all SFG Real Estate and Facilities operations to achieve the investment income and facilities goals of SFG as established periodically. Manage internal and external resources to ensure that SRE has available ample resources to meet real estate income and facilities goals. Ensure real estate and facilities policies, procedures and practices are advanced, efficient and effective.
Responsible for managing the work environment, identifying workforce needs and ensuring alignment with corporate manager expectations, values and vision.
Responsibilities
Direct and manage activities of Real Estate and Corporate Facilities staff to maximize value of our real estate assets and corporate facilities properties, in a prudent, cost effective and efficient manner consistent with approved investment policy and corporate facilities plans. Consider different future scenarios, opportunities and risks to generate operational plans that align with the team’s functions. Create a team identity and shared purpose among team members to drive toward team objectives and goals. Assure that staff members maintain the necessary training, market knowledge and technical skills to effectively manage company owned property and corporate facilities.
Direct and manage the implementation of strategic plans for each property in the portfolio, including operating budgets. Direct and manage all capital improvement projects consistent with strategic property plans. Develop and approve, within set approval limits, sound, cost effective budgets for all capital improvement projects, construction projects, and development projects. Direct and manage all facilities activities to ensure optimal space utilization and standardization of our corporate facilities. Direct and manage activities in the areas of environmental remediation, ADA compliance and other building code regulatory mandates. Direct and manage updates to the Policy and Procedures Manual for Real Estate and Facilities.
Direct and manage the negotiations and approve contracts with third party service vendors, construction contracts and capital improvement contracts. Lead and manage dialogues and negotiations with government officials with respect to real estate projects and represent SFG in public hearings, if needed.
Participate with and support senior management in the establishment and maintenance of commercial real estate and facilities strategy, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for all SFG property and facilities. Carefully monitor industry developments, trends, and changes by participating in continuing education such as seminars, industry programs, and industry associations. Incorporate changes and developments into ongoing plans.
Qualifications
Education: Construction management degree and/or Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designation through Building Owners and Management Institute or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) designation through International Facilities Management Association.
Experience: Ten years demonstrated progressively responsible experience in commercial real estate management, facilities management, construction management and building operations management or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Professional certification required: FMA or CFM
