Overview
Prudential’s Actuarial COE Operations team is seeking an individual with exceptional analytical skills and the ability to apply them to the planning of the Actuarial’s COE Project Portfolio. In this role, you will drive our operations team to a new level of organizational insight. You will bring your exceptional BI and analytical skills to evaluate our demand/portfolio, financial planning, technology assessments, resource planning (and their sometimes-competing needs) to model our portfolio for senior leadership to assist in decision making. You will use your experience with BI and data transformation tools to evaluate several data sources to assess our organizational health. You will be able to use this data to analyze our competing project needs and then develop, communicate and drive to execution a focused & strategic roadmap for the Actuarial COE. You will make use of your strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate portfolio prioritization meetings. You will create and manage strong business relationships and interact with senior leadership across the organization and drive a strong adoption of the Portfolio Management framework.
You will lead and influence using both your insights as well as your strong communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities include:
• Serves as primary owner of the Actuarial COE workplan – ensuring its completeness and effectiveness in managing the COE Project Portfolio
• Collects, analyze various data sources (demand, capacity, project health, technology, budget) to facilitate prioritization decisions with senior leadership
• Generates multiple scenarios/solutions for introducing new projects/work items into the portfolio – model impact to schedule, resources, budget, etc.
• Provides recommendations to senior leaders (based on analysis and models) best project schedules
• Drives the communication/change management efforts needed to launch, reinforce and drive adoption of the portfolio management framework and associated processes
• Participates in a continuous improvement culture and vigilantly seeks opportunities to make internal processes more efficient, with better results while always keeping our consumers experience in mind
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Advance experience with Business Intelligence technologies – with exposure to and expertise in either Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau
• Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel, including Excel functions, pivots, connecting to external data sources and ability to create complex and compound formulas.
• Experience with project financial management, financial analysis, project budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience leading portfolio prioritization and capacity planning
• Proven analytical skills, highly self-motivated, exceptional organizational skills, and flexibility in managing several tasks concurrently.
• Problem-solver mentality, with strong decision-making skills, sound judgment, and assertiveness.
• Superior oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills with ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups.
• Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with managers and staff
• Ability to facilitate and manage portfolio issues and risks through to appropriate resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
• Project management certification, PMP preferred.
• Experience with PPM tool selection is desirable
