Business Overview:
ALM Treasury is a Transversal Activity within BNP Paribas Group. ALM Treasury has three operational responsibilities and two prudential mandates. The three operational responsibilities are the management of the Group's liquidity position, the management of the interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and the management of the foreign exchange risks. The prudential mandates refer to the liquidity risks linked to the Group’s profile and geographical presence, for which ALM Treasury exercises a responsibility similar to a Group function. ALM Treasury’s mandates consist in assessing the liquidity risks of the Group and protecting the Group’s signature.
ALM Treasury North America (ALMT NA) overviews the Combined US Operations (CUSO), the Canadian activities and the Cayman Branches of BNP Paribas Group. The CUSO of BNP Paribas includes the US branches and the Intermediate Holding Company of the Group (and its subsidiaries).
Risk Standards & Monitoring North America:
Within ALM Treasury North America, Risk Standards & Monitoring (RSM NA) is in charge of:
• Defining internal norms for regulations applicable to ALM Treasury North America (Enhanced Prudential Standards, LCR, NSFR…)
• Establishing, producing and analyzing metrics on risks managed by ALM Treasury, both for internal purpose or regulatory needs
• Contributing to the relationship with supervisors (recurring meetings and audits)
• Contributing for ALM Treasury to BNP Paribas NA reports and analysis (CCAR, Resolution Plan, Risk Identification…)
• Contributing for North America to Group wide ALM Treasury reports and analysis
• Contributing to establishing local ALM Treasury Policies
Key metrics developed, produced and/or monitored by RSM NA
• Liquidity Stress Tests
• LCR
• Intraday liquidity
• Cash Flow Forecasting
• Collateral monitoring
• Contingency Funding Plan Early Warning Indicators
• Net Interest Income Sensitivity and Economic Value of Equity Sensitivity
Responsibilities:
The candidate will assist the Head of RSM NA in managing the team to deliver the following tasks on CIB and across CUSO/IHC:
• ALM Treasury contribution to Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and Resolution Plan (defining the approach, modelling and documentation), coordinating with Liquidity Stress Test model owners
• Preparation of Liquidity Normative Committee on interpretation of regulations, including Reg WW (LCR) and Reg YY (Enhanced Prudential Standards) – preparation of questions to supervisors
• Preparation of Net Debit Cap annual submission and framework (accountability policy, Risk Control Matrix)
• Definition and update of limits framework (Risk Appetite Statements and ALCO, limits and Early Warning Thresholds) for liquidity risk and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book
Minimum required qualifications
• 6 years experience in financial services or banking
• Undergraduate degree required, with a preferred emphasis in finance or business related majors
• Knowledge of LCR
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred qualifications:
• 3 years experience in ALM Treasury
• Master’s degree in finance or business related majors
• Understanding of the broker/dealer business and the wholesale banking business
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment
