Overview
The Global Acceptance & Solutions (GA&S) organization is a significant contributor to Mastercard’s strategic plan to expand global acceptance, drive incremental merchant locations and capture new revenue share through a focus on offering acceptance focused products, channels, services and solutions. Within GA&S, Partnerships and Product Innovation is focused on driving acceptance growth in new verticals and within new segments, by combining mastercard assets with partners assets (specifically fintechs). The Director, New Product Development will join the P&I team to design, develop, and deliver innovative, merchant and acquirer focused acceptance products. Specifically they will work to create successful partnerships that can be productized and delivered at scale to our acceptance partners globally. The initial product focus will be on merchant POS finance / installments. The candidate will own the product, establish the commercial program, manage product lifecycle, and work cross-functionally to launch the product across global markets.

Role:
•Proactively manage new product / partnership idea pipeline that anticipates and/or responds to merchant, acquirer and eco system stakeholder needs, market trends and competitive threats. Lead market research efforts to validate new concepts and business opportunities.
•Engage in an interactive dialogue with merchants, acquirers, other eco system stakeholders (i.e. PF’s, ISV, PSP’s) and internal stakeholders to identify needs. This includes meeting with prospective partners, evaluating opportunities, networking with industry leaders, researching references and customers.
•Evaluate existing products, value propositions, or partnership opportunities to identify new ways to enhance and integrate existing assets for merchants, acquirers and new/existing eco system partners
•Create business cases, implementation, end to end operational and support processes, and product roadmaps for concepts under development
• Work cross functionally across Mastercard with the required teams (e.g., finance, operations, customer delivery and support, product, marketing, account management) to ensure that your product design aligns with PME processes
• Develop project plans, resource planning, and development timelines.
All About You
•Demonstrated expertise in designing and launching products in the Financial and/or Fintech industry (UX and Design skills a plus).
• Strong understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends; international markets knowledge/experience a plus
•Proven project management, organization, and thought leadership skills with ability to build, lead, and maintain strong, productive teams and working relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
•Demonstrated ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work independently under pressure and with limited supervision
•Comfortable in a global role; participating in regular meetings that span across time zones and take place outside of traditional business hours
•Expertise in vendor contract management.
•Superior oral and written communication, problem solving, product documentation, and product development skills
•Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to both business and technical audiences
•Strong business acumen coupled with a customer focus and analytical skills
•Ability to interact effectively at all levels and team with internal and external business partners
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
