JLL Capital Markets is looking for a Director of Product Management to drive major new global product initiatives. This person will own significant portions of the product roadmap and be responsible for defining and delivering the product strategy and vision in line with business goals with laser focus around external customer needs.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties: The Director of Product Management will own the end-to-end customer experience for JLL’s Capital Markets product offering and help the team define the overall user experience. The candidate needs a demonstrable and highly commercial mind-set, strong financial acumen as well as excellent listening and communication skills. A logical, structured approach to problem solving and common sense are key.
• Work with internal and external customers to identify product improvements and new product features
• In line with defining real value drivers, influences business practices through creative solutions, and actionable product and platform roadmaps
• Frame problems to explain why improvements are needed, and how it fits and aligns to business strategy, as well as lead investment cases for product creation, evolution and change
• Establish priorities in line with business objectives and define key metrics to measure success or failure, in line with investment cases
• Effectively structures, staffs and manages projects and product teams to ensure there is clarity of expectation, timely execution, corrective action when needed and successful outcomes
• Use research, direct customer observation, user feedback, and analytics to identify and improve our user funnel in line with value drivers
• Partner with business leaders, technology, data, design and support teams as well as align resources allocation and augmentation to drive outcomes
• Work effectively with a cross-functional team and be accountable for successful project delivery per the project objectives, scope and timeline
• Align the goals of the above teams to ensue streamlined execution, including the evolution of product development by prioritizing bugs, acting as a subject matter expert, managing the product backlog, and planning upcoming sprints
• Measure the realization of desired outcomes and benefits, as well as actively identifying and mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle
• Responsible for communicating regularly to internal project team and executive stakeholders
Experience, Education and Training:
• 10+ years of experience in product management with global deployments in matrixed environments
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, coach, and counsel others
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and influencing ability across a broad range of personality types, gaining commitment and bringing individuals ‘on board’ at all levels
• Can clearly articulate complicated ideas/solutions and drives results with a collaborative approach
• Previous experience with Salesforce.com product offerings and/or previous experience in Commercial Real Estate a plus
• Strong financial and business case acumen
• Track record of owning and executing across the entire product lifecycle and end-to-end customer experience
• Demonstrated experience with Agile development on products that release regularly
• Experience in developing hypotheses, gathering feedback and testing them when appropriate
• Able to develop, communicate, and execute on a product vision
• Pan-regional exposure a major advantage, having led project and team efforts across multiple global geographies
• Verbal and written communication skills are critical; able to effectively organize and present thoughts clearly and concisely to executive management
• Location preference: Chicago, London or New York
• 25-30% travel required
• BS/BA in Business, Finance: MBA preferred or relevant experience
