The position of Regional Manager is responsible for the efficient, effective management and leadership of a medium size branch. Directs the activities of branch staff, ensures that established policies and procedures are followed. Actively leads the branch sales efforts to develop new and expand existing loan and deposit relationships. Promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. Recruitment of new team members.
Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Responsibilities
• Accountable for developing and administering plans to meet budget goals and performance standards set by management.
• Assesses risk of all financial transactions executed by branch personnel.
• Maintains prescribed security controls to protect the facility against criminal and fraudulent operations and unnecessary risk or exposure.
• Ensures the staff is fully trained and knowledgeable in the Banks products and services.
• Assists branch sales staff with loan and deposit pricing and structure.
• Reviews and provides commentary and guidance on loans and deposit proposals, loan presentations, and other loan and deposit recommendations.
• Responsible for ensuring branch lending personnel are actively managing their loan portfolios.
• Ensures the branch meets all sales, and financial goals and, compliance guidelines.
• Oversees the flow of cash and financial instruments in accordance with company policy.
• Oversees the reporting of financial data as required by organization and government regulations.
• Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability, demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; aligns work with strategic goals.
• Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the activities of employees including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.
• Represents the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business; assists the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four (4) year college or university and Minimum of eight (8) years or more related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
◦ Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in bank operations, compliance and supervisory skills.
◦ Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
• Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible branch banking, management and supervisory activities.
• Knowledge of BSA and the proven ability to identify and monitor high risk and money services businesses.
• Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank operational policies and procedures, and the Bank’s products and services.
• Intermediate loan product knowledge.
• Intermediate supervisory skills to handle appropriate staff.
• Intermediate knowledge of human resource and labor laws and policies.
• Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan branch activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, etc.); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish branch activities; effectively staff (selecting, training and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate.
