Environment
Candidate will be a member of the Leveraged Finance group, which originates, structures, and executes syndicated loan and high yield bond transactions for non-investment grade companies across a variety of industries to support leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, refinancings and restructurings.
Mission
Responsibilities
• Execute all aspects of the financing, including the preparation, structuring, and negotiation of financing proposals and legal documentation, due diligence, credit analysis, cash flow modeling, and credit approval
• Prepare client presentation and marketing materials, such as pitch books, information memorandums, investor presentations and ratings agencies presentations
• Manage Analysts and Associates in the deal team efficiently to allocate work, review outputs and ensure accuracy and quality of analyses (including due diligence review, credit analysis and financial modeling)
• Develop client relationships and promote the leveraged finance platform; proactively generate new business opportunities as appropriate
• Communicate with internal and external deal team members, including private equity clients, management teams, investors, investment bankers, and syndicate/sales professionals
• Work with internal and external legal counsel regarding the preparation of loan documentation
• Monitor transaction exposure post-closing in cooperation with the portfolio management department
Profile
Qualifications
• 6+ years experience in leveraged finance or investment banking
• Experience with three-statement financial modeling, including detailed operating builds and capital structure scenarios
• Knowledge of corporate finance valuation and financial accounting concepts
• Strong credit risk analysis skills
• Familiarity with credit documentation and the structuring of non-investment grade loan and high yield bond transactions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams
• Demonstrated work ethic, positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Series 7/79 and Series 63 certifications a plus
