Washington National is looking to hire an experienced Director of Field Sales, with expertise in supplemental health, and voluntary worksite and group benefits products.
The Director will be responsible for growing territory sales and brokerage/IMO relationships throughout the US. The Director will develop and implement a systematic sales growth plan, partner with and recruit qualified agencies, brokers and producers, while achieving aggressive sales growth targets, utilizing Washington National products and services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Recruit and develop meaningful sales relationships with supplemental health and worksite insurance agencies and brokers, and providing value-added product wholesaling and business development consulting services
• Promote the Washington National brand and value proposition to drive growth with “white-space” brokers and independent marketing organizations
• Achieve aggressive annual sales and recruiting/penetration targets
• Provide effective agent/agency/brokerage training on Washington National products and technology through development of a deep understanding of the associated features and benefits
• Use client relationship management tools to track and provide reporting on recruiting, partnership growth, and sales activities
• Develop effective relationships with home office (internal wholesaling team, operations, marketing, etc.) and provide input on opportunities to improve Washington National products, sales support and service delivery
• Partner and leverage relationships through Washington Nationals’ wholly owned captive distribution force, to help drive synergies and strategically grow Washington National’s independent and captive distribution channel results.
Skills & Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience as a supplemental health or worksite external wholesaler and/or in worksite insurance sales growth, recruiting and territory growth
• Quantifiable success in achieving and exceeding sales and recruiting goals
• Current product knowledge of voluntary worksite products (e.g., accident, STD, group life, critical illness)
• Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated ability to successfully work independent of direct supervision, but still collaborate in a team environment
Additional Requirements:
• Must be willing to travel extensively, approximately >50% of the time
• Insurance license desired
• Strong existing relationships with worksite brokers/agencies
