JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for creation, maintenance, and publishing of company policies, procedures, standards, job aids, technical documents, and process maps for use by business end users. This position is also responsible for analyzing documentation to confirm it meets regulatory and investor requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Work with the business to create detailed process maps to assist in IT development projects
• Conduct research by interviewing subject matter experts, reviewing existing documentation, and gleaning information from the system or product being documented
• Write, edit, conduct gap analysis, and deliver all documentation in accordance with existing editorial styles
• Translate information of medium to high complexity into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.
• Analyze Investor and Regulatory requirements to determine if process related documentation meets those requirements
• Create job aids and desk reference material to assist in training, accuracy and efficiency
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure others are reviewing Investor and Regulatory requirements correctly
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure others are writing and editing documentation to meet existing editorial styles
FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Knowledge of grammatical structure and content, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar
• Support multiple document projects concurrently, independently, and with minimal supervision
• Highly proficient in time management, planning and prioritization; ability to manage changing priorities
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Retain solid understanding of how applications/processes work, during and after the documentation project
• Demonstrate sound judgment and initiative regarding documentation assignments
• Work with all levels of management to create/update documents
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Business Administration or related field is desired
• 3-5+ years of business or technical writing experience, required
• 3-5+ years of process mapping and process improvement, required
• Experience with mortgage terminology and servicing, preferred
• Familiarization with the Chicago Manual of Style and Microsoft Manual of Style
• In-depth knowledge of multiple software and graphics packages needed:
◦ Microsoft Office (required; expert level with Word)
◦ Microsoft Visio or IBM Blueworks (required; intermediate level)
◦ SnagIt, Axure (recommended; beginner level)
◦ HTML (recommended, beginner level)
◦ Archer (preferred, beginner level)
