The Chief Loan Administration Officer directs the Loan Production and Loan Servicing functions for the Bank, serving as the supervisor to the Loan Production and Loan Servicing Group Directors.
The Chief Loan Administration Officer is responsible for determining and measuring service level standards performance (customer service; turn-around time; risk management and regulatory compliance; audit soundness; and productivity and efficiency). Leads the Loan Administration function’s efforts in process development and improvement, concentrating on mitigating identified risk concerns, increase efficiencies, and enhance the functionality and ease of use. The Chief Loan Administration Officer is the owner for loan administration policy and practices.
Is responsible for managing expenses related to Loan Administration and allocating resources to meet the needs of the business. Develops budgets and is responsible for project management for the group. Fosters good working relationships with executive and senior leaders in partner departments including Lending, Credit Administration, Risk Management/Compliance, and other internal support groups, and third-party services.
The Chief Loan Administration Officer directs a large function within the Bank, the org chart includes numerous supervisors and team leads of small to medium-sized team of employees.
Responsibilities
Manages Loan Production and Loan Servicing Group Directors and provides direction and leadership necessary to meet Service Level Standards and overcome obstacles. Defines Service Level Standards, validating the controls and processes used by Loan Production and Servicing staff, and reports on Service Level Standards performance and other KPI’s to the head of Loan Administration.
Manages expenses related to the Loan Administration function; participates in the development of budgets, forecasts, and reconciliation of expenditures. Directs the allocation of resources; explores and authorizes new initiatives and drives the project management process. Resolves escalation issues and conflicts between Loan Production and Loan Service teams, as well as partner departments in support of Loan Production and Loan Servicing Group Directors. Serves as a liaison between loan origination personnel and Loan Production teams as related to technical processes and requirements, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service. Works closely with Lending Compliance Risk Manager to mitigate lending compliance risk and ensure audit-soundness
Leads the development of new and revised procedures, methods, and forms that related to loan production and note servicing. Owns the policy, practice and design of Loan Administration activity. Coordinates the process of the transition of loans between Production and Servicing with the Loan Production and Loan Servicing Group Directors. Provides supervision to and directs the activities of Loan Administration employees; performs supervisory tasks such as performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; develops work schedules; provides necessary training and coaching. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a college or university and 8 or more years related experience or, 12 or more years related experience. Work related experience should consist of relevant experience in the financial industry.
Advanced to Expert knowledge of general banking, including understanding of bank products, services, and regulations, policies and procedures, with an emphasis in loan origination, production/servicing or a combination.
Advanced to Expert knowledge of core banking and loan processing software and systems including FISERV, FIS, LaserPro, etc.
Previous experience supervising a medium sized group of employees (at least 5-8) and/or other supervisors of teams required.
