How will you contribute?
Reporting to the Manager, Retain Core, the Business Consultant is the primary point of contact to the client during project initiation through close-out phases. The Business Consultant acts as an advisor to the Finastra internal project team and client personnel in the areas of core or applicable partners’ software functionality, corresponding system setup, and software installation.
The Business Consultant follows project standards within established timeframes and at defined quality levels, and ensure projects are completed according to client specifications. This position is client-facing and requires travel to the client site as the project warrants. Work performed is typically moderately complex.
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Your deliverables as a Project Manager will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Conduct preliminary contract analysis to develop business requirements and establishes scope
• Conduct detailed customer interviews and work sessions to document business requirements in appropriate format
• Provide subject matter expertise to internal staff including but not limited to sales, development, support, training, professional services as needed.
• Follow established project, departmental, company procedures and quality standards.
• Advise client on process re-engineering and utilization of the software to help ensure maximum value of solutions implemened.Establish and/or assist client with establishing system parameters and controls based on client’s business practices and processes, recommend best practices, review setup with clients, and gain client acceptance.
• Test and troubleshoot system configuration, functionality and interactions with devices based on expected outcomes, as applicable.
• Review system output with client for client familiarization.
• Communicate and work collaboratively with third party vendors or partners to organize integration tasks, as applicable.
• Communicate project scope and status to all stakeholders, including escalating risks and proposing mitigation plan.
• Record accurate and timely accounting of time spent on project related activities.
• Complete post-implementation tasks and provide post-go live support.
• Follow established project management standards. Provide activities related to the management of assigned implementation projects to bring the project to a timely close and transition the client appropriately.
• Assist client with enhancement and customization requests.
• Update internal documentation as applicable.
• Participate in the development of training content. Conduct software training and/or reinforce prior training to both external clients and internal staff.
• Maintain, enhance, and broaden knowledge and skills of software applications and industry practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required:
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with internal and external clients with a high level of professionalism.
• Ability to work with direction but without direct supervision.
• Ability to meet critical deadlines and adhere to defined quality standards.

• Ability to train how to install and configure software applications, as applicable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Basic knowledge of network infrastraucture and peripheral devices, as applicable.
• Flexible and adapts to change easily.
• Excellent presentation skills preferred.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant area of expertise, preferably for financial institution or an industry software company.
• Client facing service experience strongly preferred.
• Software implementation, support, or training experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with project management disciplines preferred.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
OTHER
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to receive, express, or exchange detailed information through oral and written communication.
• Ability to see and operate a computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. of weight (laptop, projector, suitcase, etc.).
• Extensive time spent on telephone communication.
• Extensive work hours (on-site or remote) may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work is performed in a general office environment.
• Must be able to travel 25-30% of the time. This may include overnight travel, weekend travel, and holiday travel and may be assigned on short notice.
