GENERAL DESCRIPTION (SUMMARY, SCOPE, PURPOSE)
Reporting to the Vice President, Talent & Organizational Development, The Organizational Development Director is a senior level role on the Talent & OD team, and is accountable for building out and leading the organizational development & design ‘practice’ at HUB International. As the Organizational Development (OD) practice lead, you will have ownership for creating our organizational development and design play books, leading the design and delivery of internal consulting engagements, and mentor and develop other Talent &OD team members in the organizational design and development space.
You will also be a key player in the Talent Development space and will have an opportunity to shape our talent strategy and roadmap at HUB. You may lead or participate in a variety of talent and leadership development areas (ranging from workforce planning, Diversity & Inclusion, leadership development, to engagement and talent analytics).
Partner with our HR Field organization in a coaching and developing capacity in delivery of regional OD initiatives. Provide Organizational Development thought leadership for our corporate and field HR teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Development
• Build out and continuously refine organizational development and design ‘play books’ for our corporate and field HR teams
• Lead strategic organizational development and design initiatives – may include initial assessment work, creating OD strategies, implementing OD strategies, and monitoring results
• Coach and develop team members (corporate and field) in OD
• Facilitate internal leadership consulting engagements at Hub – from contracting to designing to facilitating leadership sessions to working with the client on a sustainability plan
• Build the leadership effectiveness and change capability of our internal clients
Talent Development
• Co-create our talent strategy and talent roadmap for HUB
• Research and design employee-centric people processes that span across the employee life cycle
• In partnership with our field HR organization – deliver, measure, and continuously improve people processes
• Bring an inclusion and diversity lens to all people practice development
• Design relevant and meaningful program measures that measure the impact of your talent initiatives
• Collaborate in creating and refining our talent strategy and roadmap
• As part of a broader cadre – facilitate various leadership and employee development sessions across the company
• Role model positive change – help others navigate transition and organizational change
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 7 – 10 years of progressive organizational development and design experience
• External consulting experience a plus (or leading an internal consulting practice)
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership while maintaining excellent customer service
• Blend of strategic thinking and practical execution
• Passion for coaching and developing talent
• Proficient in designing and using analytics – able to harness and use data to make informed decisions
• Experience designing talent processes a plus
• Understands the dynamics of a matrix organization
• Good organizational savvy, resilient
• Ability to simultaneously and effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
• Exemplary project management and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group and manage ambiguous situations
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office suite
• Strong negotiation and influence skills
• Willingness to travel up to 20%
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Four-year college degree. Graduate work or degree in organizational development, HR, or related field preferred.
