Job Description:
The Consultant Relations Associate will support the Institutional business in general and Consultant Relations in particular with a focus on maintaining consultant (e.g. Mercer’s GIMD, Wilshire) and third-party databases (e.g. eVestment) (“databases”) globally. The Associate will be responsible for coordinating with internal departments and external vendors to ensure the timely and accurate submission of Dimensional’s investment strategies which includes narrative, performance and characteristics to the databases. This individual will work closely with Research, Portfolio Management/Trading, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and IT. Developing and cultivating productive relationships with individuals within these groups is important to be successful in this role. This is a global role so there will also be coordination with Dimensional’s offices outside the US. This role is also a part of a data team that assists with data requests that we receive from RFPs and the sales teams.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain databases and ensure timely and accurate submission of data
• Collect, organize and analyze data from various internal databases and internally produced programs such as returns programs, attributions databases, characteristic databases, and various marketing and client databases (CRM)
• Liaise on a regular basis with internal groups such as Research, Portfolio Management/Trading, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and IT
• Assist with the data requests that we receive from RFP questions; data primarily involved is AUM (Assets Under Management)
• Analyze, process and interpret data to fulfill often times unique custom data requests
• Coordinate with Dimensional’s offices outside the US and assist with database requests
• Develop an extensive knowledge of the institutional investment business and Dimensional’s positioning and offerings
• Support projects from Manager/RDs
• Follow industry and consultant trends and developments
Qualifications:
• A strong academic background, including Bachelor’s degree, is required
• Pursuing CFA is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, to prioritize and exercise time management
• Computer and analytical expertise; good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity processing data using macros and tools such as PowerBI and Microsoft Access a plus
• Demonstrate drive & determination to achieve high quality results
• Flexibility and willingness to take on challenging tasks and projects
• A strong sense of professional and personal integrity and high ethical standards
• Initiative, accountability and focus on quality
• Commitment to the philosophy and process underlying Dimensional’s investment approach
• Highly motivated to significantly increase depth and breadth of consultant relationships
