Weichert Family ofCompanies is hiring a Human Resources Manager to work out of our corporate headquarters in Morris Plains, NJ. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the daily management of Human Resource functions supporting the Weichert Family of Companies. This includes employee relations, HR administration, compensation, policy application, performance management, onboarding and terminations. A large focus of this position will be to support a large number of field employees with complex employee relations issues. The position also oversees both long-term and short-term Affirmative Action (AA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) initiatives to attain and maintain a diverse workforce at all levels within the organization. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Serves as an expert consultant to all levels of management/employees on work-related issues, employment related law, and policy interpretation.
• Investigates, assesses, recommends, and implements claims of discrimination/harassment and/or other employment related legal issues and concerns.
• Monitors, assesses, and develops appropriate risk management strategies regarding individual and group work-related issues.
• Represents Company's interest regarding employment legal issues, under the direction of the Legal Department. Conducts investigations and assists in responding to EEOC complaints.
• Attends and mediates manager/employee discussions or terminations as needed.
• Creates, improves, and administers human resource policies and procedures. Manages and maintains policies.
• Ensures Company policies are communicated and adhered to on a consistent basis. Initiates corporate policy changes as they relate to legal compliance.
• Serves as an advisor regarding the diversity/inclusion efforts and Affirmative Action procedures within the Company. Consults and develops strategies/programs with business unit leaders to drive Affirmative Action and diversity plans that support business needs.
• Manages Company-wide Affirmative Action plans that are compliant with government legislation and management directives. Monitors compliance to federal and state EEO/AA requirements.
• Responsible for timely EEO/AA report preparation.
• Provides guidance and support during Reductions in Force. Partners with management to create action plans to minimize Company liability.
• Leads process to develop job descriptions and determine FLSA exempt or non-exempt from overtime classifications. Makes recommendations regarding job titles, as well as job leveling. Maintains job description library and job coding system.
• Analyzes compensation survey data to assist with the determination of trends for use in determining salary recommendations. May participate in compensation surveys.
• Participates in and completes financial analyses for compensation plan design changes or new plan proposals.
• Partners with department managers to ensure that compensation programs, processes, and competitive pay benchmarks are understood and aligned with the business strategy.
• Administers the annual Company-wide performance review process. Acts as the primary point of contact for the employee population during the process.
• Designs and delivers compensation and performance management training and guidance to business units as needed. Manages other compensation projects as necessary.
• Periodically perform audits on the recruitment and employment operations/procedures and partners with recruiting teams to address any issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsThe ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree preferred
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
• Ten (10) or more years of prior experience as a Human Resources Manager or Generalist, with a strong focus in Employee Relations
• Experience in EEO and Affirmative Action plan development and administration preferred
• Experience managing people
• Demonstrated background in project and process management
• Thorough knowledge of related state and federal regulations and employment related laws including EEO, ADA, AAP, and FLSA
• Ability to handle all aspects of employee relations and ensure company-wide compliance
• Strong relationship management and consulting skills
• Ability to efficiently organize work and set priorities
• Ability to work with minimal guidance or direction
• Ability to interact with all levels of management
• Ability to implement change
• Strong presentation skills to senior management, employee groups, and the public
