The Role:
Senior Accountant in the SEC Reporting group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform BGC Partners, Inc. (“BGCP”) consolidation monthly / quarterly, including month end and quarterly journal entries (i.e. Tax, Distributions, Dividends, Intercompany, etc.)
• Assist in production of the quarterly Financial Package (FACTBOOK), which includes various financial measures (GAAP and non-GAAP), and ad hoc analysis for Senior Management
• Responsible for commentary of certain line items in the P&L Analytics performed
• Assist in production of the BGCP Statement of Changes in Equity
• Assist in completion / review of purchase accounting for future acquisitions
• Reconcile / substantiate certain BGCP balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Responsible for review of entries posted to BGCP Elimination/Adjustment Entities
• Prepare certain financial measures and information necessary, as well as help produce and/or review presentations and documents for various financing arrangements
• Assist in implementation of Hyperion Financial Management (a consolidation tool) and preparation of reports
• Review and substantiate financial data in the BGCP Quarterly Earnings Releases and presentations
• Assist in production of pro forma financial information for ad hoc requests and SEC filings
• Preparation of certain BGCP footnotes in 10-Qs and 10-Ks
• Assist in preparation of the BGCP MD&A
• Assist in review of 10-Qs and 10-Ks
• Assist in production of a financial Board Pack to provide with the 10-Qs/10-Ks
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
• 3-5 years of related experience in financial services and preferably SEC reporting
• Big Four public accounting firm experience preferable
• Advanced analytical and Excel capabilities and ability to multitask
• CPA preferred
