Overview
Within the Commercial Real Estate Group ("CRE") of the Bank's Real Estate Finance Department, the Director will be responsible for originating, structuring and executing complex Real Estate Investment Trust/Real Estate transactions such as revolvers, term loans, construction loans and project loans.
Responsibilities
1) Assist with origination efforts of the CRE New York based team;
2) Meet individual budget targets through originating, executing, and closing transaction mandates and effectively managing current client relationships in order to develop new business opportunities;
3) Work together wtih senior management to develop and implement business strategy for CRE's New York based business;
4) Generate creative and innovative financing solutions for new and existing clients to augment relationships and deliver bank products and services that will enhance return from a balance sheet utilization perspective;
5) Successfully manage complex credit situations, renegotiate terms with clients and other lenders, review and assist with loan documentation, and provide comprehensive feedback to management and credit to protect the interests of the bank;
6) Oversee asset and portfolio management for the purpose of managing risk; posesses a good understanding of banking regulations, internal and external policies and loan risk factors; remain aware of compliance rules to proactively mitigate or reduce risk;
7) Attend bank meetings and relevent industry conferences for networking purposes and to keep abreast of industry trends..
8) Mentor junior personnel to assist with their career development.
Qualifications
• Education: BA/BS in business required, or its equivalent. MBA preferred.
• Work Experience: 10+ years working at a coporate bank or other relevant financail institution in the real estate sector.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and strong modeling skills.
• Strong business development and portfolio management skills (with demonstrable cudget achievement results), and experience interacting with C-suite customer personnel.
