About the opportunity
Department overview
Corporate Actions are responsible for identifying, tracking, processing and reporting any Corporate Action events and Dividends, which effect any security position held by Fidelity’s retail and institutional funds, across all asset classes. The global range of Fidelity’s products and services expose the team to the full spectrum of corporate action types across most of the world’s stock markets.
Corporate actions are in daily contact with approximately 30 custodian banks and information vendors researching, analysing and verifying corporate action information. The team is responsible for notifying the Portfolio Managers and Trading Desks globally with details of voluntary corporate actions. Corporate actions collect all responses and instruct the custodian banks in line with the Portfolio Managers wishes. The team account for all corporate action and CFD dividend entitlements in the individual funds across multiple daily Net Asset Value (NAV) points. Corporate actions work to tight deadlines to meet their obligations within Asset Management Operations (AMO).
The team operates in a fast developing and dynamic environment, where technology has and is being developed to automate current workflow processes. There is also a strong emphasis on liaison with the many areas within Global Business Solutions (GBS); working collaboratively to resolve mutual issues.
What you’ll do
You will support the Head of Dublin Fund Accounting and the leadership team in delivering the strategic objectives of Asset Management Operations and Global Business Solutions. Asset Management Operations encompasses all support services for asset servicing.
Corporate actions operates in a dynamic asset management environment, covering middle office and back office functions in support of our global investment teams.
What you can expect
BAU & Team
• Define global operating model for corporate actions and auxiliary investment services.
• On-boarding of new client / fund products into existing operational architecture through definition of service level agreements.
Coaching and Development
• Define and monitor delivery of corporate actions and department goals
• An opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership and coaching skills, developing future leaders within the team
Client Delivery
• Continuous emphasis on client delivery and satisfaction across our investment management and asset servicing clients
• Act as an escalation or contact point for key stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally to Asset Management Operations
• Define quantitative and qualitative MI reporting for corporate actions and the senior leadership team
Innovation & Change
• A strong emphasis on strategic changes and change delivery
• An opportunity to deliver innovative technology solutions supporting the global operational model
• Working closely with operational support to deliver on change initiatives
• As business owner participate in project steering committees influencing the strategic objective of the project
Risk
• Integration of new operational workflows into an ever evolving operational risk framework
• As required, the management of significant risk incidents affecting corporate actions and aligned processes
• Oversight and management of the risk profile of corporate actions, taking appropriate actions to close pertinent risks
Who you are
• Minimum 3 years global corporate actions experience at management level
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an asset management / asset servicing role (preferable)
• Experience in a variety of asset servicing roles (beneficial)
• Ability to focus on multiple initiatives and oversight of department
• Client service focused individual
• Decision-maker with a strategic mind-set
• Understanding of project framework and influencing techniques
• A passion and commitment to deliver change in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communicator at all levels and various mediums
• Proven leadership qualities and ability to influence the strategic direction of the department
• Ability to think laterally and develop innovative solutions to problems
• This role is captured by FCA Training and Competency requirements and considered part of the UK ISFA Training and Competency scheme. The candidate should be able to prove completion of industry examinations, have appropriate grandfathering qualifications or be willing to work towards obtaining their qualifications within a specified timeframe
